In 2017, Indonesia took the first tangible steps towards advancing solar PV capacity, by having its first regional tender for 168 MW of solar in Sumatra. Developers have also started to directly negotiate PPA-s with PT PLN. Although the solar PV policy is still unpredictable in the country, the opportunities are big. With around 250 million inhabitants and over 900 populated islands, Indonesia presents big opportunity for solar PV development.
