Pushkala Ratan has been in the field of renewable energy for several years having started her career with the World Bank in Washington DC. She was subsequently Manager of the Carbon Advisory Business at Vestas Wind Technology in India before joining Deutsche Bank in Singapore as the Vice President for Environmental Financial Products. At Deutsche Bank, she was responsible for emissions and renewable energy project financing for the Asia Pacific region. She is currently the Regional Vice President for Renewable Energy at TUV SUD Asia Pacific in Singapore. Her expertise spans across technical services, finance, economics, regulation and policy. She has worked extensively on projects in the U.S., Europe, China, India, South Korea, Japan and South East Asia. Dr. Ratan has a Masters from The American University in Washington DC and a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. She has published several articles and papers and has presented at various business and academic conferences on renewable energy.

Phil Napier-Moore leads Mott MacDonald’s technical advisory work for solar power in the Asia Pacific region, including current developments in Indonesia. Supporting PV plant investors and lenders from the sector’s infancy in 2008, he has overseen the regional solar team’s technical inputs to more than 5000 MW of PV projects in Asia, including more than 200 plants now in operation.
He has directed and managed projects for a range of multilateral agencies, national governments and a large number of private companies, working internationally on low-carbon power projects in 30 countries around the world, in particular within Asia and Europe.
A Chartered Energy Engineer, he obtained his Masters of Engineering from Oxford University.

Peter Cockcroft is a renowned energy industry professional, with 40 years of developing successful international energy projects including in Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, Australia and France. He was President-Director for one of the first IPP projects in Indonesia and has taught on the subject of energy risk in over 20 countries. He has been a board member of energy companies in Australia, Indonesia, India, UAE, Kuwait, France and USA.
Recently he has been advising on risk-based evaluations of solar projects in India, Thailand, Australia and Pakistan.

Jae is a partner in our Banking and Finance and Renewable Energy and Sustainability Groups, based in Hong Kong. He helps corporates and banks on a wide range of projects and financings, including project financings, acquisition financings, trade financings and corporate loans.
Jae has worked on transactions throughout Asia-Pacific, South America and Africa. In addition, Jae has spent periods on secondment in NAB’s Global Treasury Department in Melbourne and Standard Chartered’s Wholesale Banking Group in Hong Kong.
Jae has extensive experience leading multi-jurisdictional projects and has particular industry experience in the energy and natural resources sector, including renewable energy.

Almo serves as the Energy and Climate Manager for WRI Indonesia. He leads the development of the sustainable energy portfolio within WRI Indonesia, and is currently in charge of developing the Sustainable Energy One Map in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the creation of Indonesia’s Center of Excellence for Clean Energy.
As an energy professional, Almo has worked for various energy companies and international organization. Prior to joining WRI, Almo worked as an implementation consultant for energy and power sector with the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company and also at the International Energy Agency where he supported the formulation of two of IEA’s major publications namely: 2014 World Energy Outlook, and 2014 Africa Energy Outlook. Almo also has eight years of experience in the oil and gas industry with British Petroleum (BP) and Petronas.
Almo graduated from University College London (UCL) in the UK with an M.Sc. in Energy Economics and B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering.

Volker Bromund was working 18 years in various positions as Corporate Banker for Deutsche Bank AG. He has vast experience in credit, corporate banking/finance and was working for Deutsche Bank in Germany, Malaysia, Hong Kong and for more than 10 years in Indonesia. After leaving Deutsche Bank Jakarta in 2010 he started his own consultancy company advising clients in all areas of financing and market entry strategies into Indonesia. Since 2012 he is also Consultant for LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg).
In the area of Sustainable Finance he has supported amongst others OJK on the definition of Sustainable Finance in the Indonesian context and has done various projects with MoF on topics related to financing of RE projects and Energy Efficiency financing schemes.

This workshop is organized by the German expert in capacity building Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) in the framework of the Green Banking Project. Green Banking – Capacity Building on Green Energy & Climate Finance is a programme within the German International Climate Initiative (IKI). RENAC, in cooperation with the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia & Pacific (ADFIAP) has been commissioned to conduct Green Banking by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).
